Extensive research on the movie and real life inspirations from Germany led to the dramatic and elegant design of the card and envelope. The color and type choices were inspired from Wes Anderson's imagery in the film. Decorations and borders were inspired from Jugendstil architecture, which Anderson also drew inspiration from for his film.
