Government Security Profession Apprenticeships Case Studies
We were asked to produce a set of video case studies to promote the Government Security Profession’s new cyber security apprenticeship programme.
In order to engage a younger, digital-savvy audience we needed an intriguing visual narrative. We opted for a dark and brooding tone to evoke very timely themes of secrecy, the dark web, protection and responsibility.
Sped up footage of a projected film allowed us to use distorted colours to our advantage. We paired this with a soundscape built from multiple static tracks and spoken word from the radio to create a sinister and abstract visual narrative. The sinister theme is reflected in the colour grade, with added green and blue hues to fill the viewer with a sense of foreboding.
These effects support the key messages captured in the interview, delivered by real apprentices who see protecting national security as a big part of their future. Young viewers may be surprised to discover that there are apprenticeships available in such an exciting, forward-looking field.
