It was the owner’s dream to create a retreat house in the Carpathian Mountains, which would be an ideal place for meditation, seclusion, and quiet reflection. The project designed and completed by Fateeva Design fully implemented the customer’s expectations.
The floor area of the house was used to its best advantage, the layout was well thought through, and the furniture was custom-made. The beauty of the surrounding landscape became the natural continuation of the minimalist interior. “Total white” works at its best here: the pure and fresh white color envelopes everything with the atmosphere of calm, clarity, and peace. To avoid total dissolution in prana, a few “grounding points” are introduced: Hutsul handmade rugs made of sheep’s wool; kitchen working area decorated with Ukrainian embroidery patters; a textured adobe wall, and ceramic works made by local masters. These ethnic accents fill the whole space with a live energy of manual labor and create the unique identity of this place, which is inseparable from the soul of the majestic Carpathian Mountains.
