Pegada Hídrica Water Footprint
A água é “a razão da vida e é, também, o ingrediente básico do corpo humano” (Angela Morelli , 2011).
Water is the reason of life and is, also, the building block of the human body (Angela Morelli, 2011).
Este projecto assenta na investigação da Pegada Hídrica *.
Procedeu-se à contagem da quantidade de água dispendida em seis principais actividades domésticas: lavar os dentes, tomar banho, lavar a louça, lavar a roupa, cozinhar e limpezas gerais. No sentido de atribuir mais certezas e significado à contagem, teve-se em conta os seguintes parâmetros: o tempo total de duração da actividade, os litros totais de água utilizada, a percentagem de tempo em que a água esteve a correr - ou seja, durante dois minutos em que certa actividade está a decorrer, a torneira não se encontra sempre aberta -, quantidade peças lavadas (de uso doméstico ou industrial) - no que diz respeito às actividades de lavar louça e roupa -, pressão da água, temperatura da água e tipo de lavagem, podendo esta ser manual ou automática.
* Indicador da quantidade de água necessária para produzir cada um dos bens ou serviços do nosso quotidiano, como por exemplo o papel, os alimentos, a roupa e ainda o consumo da mesma quando aplicada em actividades domésticas ou industriais.
Este cálculo foi efectuado durante um dia, tendo por base um agregado familiar, constituído por três pessoas. Os dados recolhidos foram trabalhados visualmente através de uma linguagem customizada.

This project is based on the investigation of the Water Footprint *.
The amount of water expended in six main household activities was counted: tooth brushing, bathing, dishwashing, clothes washing, cooking and general cleaning. In order to attribute more certainty and meaning to the count, the following parameters were taken into account: the total duration of the activity, the total liters of water used, the percentage of time the water was running - during two minutes in which a certain activity is taking place, the faucet is not always open -, quantity washed parts (of domestic or industrial use) - for the activities of dishwashing and laundry -, water pressure, temperature water and washing type, which can be manual or automatic.

A experiência descrita foi representada visualmente através da criação de um código constituído pelos parâmetros, anteriormente enumerados, dividindo-se em símbolos, de índole quantitativa, e em atributos, de cariz qualitativo.
Estes parâmetros são representados por pictogramas, inspirados no seu significado.
Cada cartaz organiza a mensagem codificada criada e cada um deles representa a pegada hídrica de cada uma das actividades.

The experience described was visually represented by the creation of a code consisting of the parameters, previously enumerated, which were divided into symbols, of a quantitative nature, and of qualitative attributes.
