A battle rages inside of Edward Banner. He finds that his life is a constant struggle to balance both ends of his
split personality. On one side he is nervous and quiet man. He attempts to add order and control to every aspect of his life. He fears the unknown and unorganized chaos that exists in the world today. To escape the chaos of the world he immerses himself in design. He believes that everything has a place and an order and it is the designers duty to put it where it belongs. The act of designing for him is therapeutic because he is in control as he organizes the visual display of information.

The one thing Edward Banner can’t control is his darker side. When he takes over all bets are off. He slashes the grid, makes type illegible and pushes against every rule and constraint the first half has set in place. He attempts to return life and a dynamic element back into Edward’s design. to try and regain any contol Edward has to become a diplomat to himself. pushing and pullling, making compromises in an attempt to please both halfs. The work that remains is the visual treaty between these two warring factions.
