AvantGarde Magazine - School Project

AvantGarde Magazine was my school project. We had to come up with visual design of a magazine and create 30 pages. The name of my magazine is AvantGarde and is primarily focused on all types of ART. It covers movies, music, classical art pieces, modern art pieces, tattoos as  art, graffiti as art and everything we can name art in these day and age. Name of the magazine comes from French, avant - garde meaning the
“vanguard” or the “advance guard” — basically the people and ideas that are ahead of their time.
Usually it refers to a movement in the arts, like Dadaism, or in politics, like anarchism. Avant-garde can also be used as an adjective to describe something that's cutting-edge. Avant-garde was originally applied to innovative approaches to art making in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, it is applicable to all art that pushes the boundaries of ideas and creativity, and is still used today to describe art that is radical or reflects originality of vision.
As there was a magazine active in the 80s named AvantGarde, my idea was to adopt its visual design, but make it less controversial and more appealing to anyone with even the smallest interest in ART. And by the term ART I mean anything that can be CREATIVE.
