Concept
The concept of this project was to give a shout out and recognition to people who have helped support my artwork. So I thought about a way to implement this idea into a piece of artwork. I decided to use my art style and techniques and combine that with a concept of an art form that I love, which is tattoos. The image I wanted to create just needed to be simply and also I wanted the shout out to be suttle so I thought about simply having one dominant image and then add tattoos to that image and hence just keeping the shoutout suttle.
So the next stage was to come up with an image that would work, after doing plenty of research into tattoo fonts and imagery I decided to just keep the actual design of the tattoos simple. I thought about the most popular place for tattoos and of course the arms are that. It was established that a pair of arms would be the main focus of the image.
I drew up a quick sketch of how I wanted the image to look and then I created the much more developed and realistic sketch using the quick sketch as a guide.
Art
Once the pencil artwork had been completed I then scanned the image into my computer and used photoshop and a tablet to add colour and life to the drawing, below shows the creation process.
Final Artwork
This is the final artwork, the tattoos on the left give out a shout out to the people who have supported me and the tattoos on the right are simply about me, my name, my date of birth and a phrase I live by. Also on the hands it states my lifestyle of being Drug Free.
