When I was selected by Buzzfeed as one of the four paid contributors in Argentina, I knew I had to seize the opportunity and do my share to keep the local content on such a groundbreaking media outlet amazing. I wrote local pieces and brought some humor to my articles, but also decided to be brave and share some personal stories that could be not only engaging but useful to readers.
My story was not unique, but the tone at the time (2015) was impactful and helped make a difference. This remains one of my proudest career moments.
"Anything but fat", a piece about mental health and body positivity became viral and remained in the Top 5 trending posts for weeks. It also received media pickup from sites around the world and became part of the ESI education program in some schools in Argentina, where topics like bullying and self-image issues are addressed.
