DRAWING FUNDAMENTALS
Best contour line drawing done in charcoal pencil (hence the lines all over, sorry)
My favorite still life from the class.
My favorite from when we used wet media. Watercolors are awesome.
The final still life using reductive drawing with charcoal. It's so messy and I had to wash my hands every 20 minutes but it's worth it.
BASIC DESIGN
Fall 2012
Project #1: Make a series of shapes putting ink on patterned objects and dragging them across paper and later find patterns that relate to the principles of design.

Speedball India ink on illustration board.
Project #2: Create a composition of abstract shapes coming together with the principles of design.

Project #3: Create a collage using one reoccuring image and various text with the principles of design. I loved Spain when I went there back in summer of 2011 so I decided to have mine be an advertisement for Spain.

Printed letters and images and Canson Mi Tientes Paper on illustration board.
Project #4: We did three panels in black and white paint zooming in on a subject. This was my favorite panel.

Project #5: The Creative Color Wheel! I had the crazy idea of having 12 tangerine slices on a plate with the full hue being the pulp, the tint be the lighter pulp, and the shade being the shadows from the light. I have to say it turned out pretty good. Probably the most fun (and difficult) assignment of the semester. (Reference is my own photo)

Final Project from Basic Design. We had to draw a composition with an organic subject such as a piece of fruit, a vegetable, or even a dead bird with a background. It could be a still life but it could also be from a photographic reference. I chose the latter. (Reference is my own photo)
