This time-based piece is a contemporary approach to exploring mark-making and traditional patterns and imagery in textiles (ex. The Floral & Polka dot.) A wooden base with holes for each marker holds a scarf “canvas” as the colored markers wick into their corresponding empty flower spots on the fabric.
Over time, the missing flower reveals itself on its stem, re-blooming through an alternate process.
After about 5 hours, the markers wicked out to a desired point and the cloth was removed from the canvas frame to be later turned into a scarf that embraces opacity and bright floral color.
