The fundamental approach and concept for the works originated from a thought of truly being an artist. I am passionate about art and there is no doubt about me wanting to become an artist, but thinking about actually surviving as an artist is a whole different issue. As I encounter my friends who get internships from their parent’s personal connections, I ask myself, “How does one become a successful artist? Does it come from one’s skills, ideas, personal connection, or all of those, or none of those?”

I thought that the fluorescent colors might solve my problem and concern. Neon lights glow, outstand, and are used to advertise. What I needed was the confidence to advertise myself.
