Gelatin Mass
This painting was originally an exploration piece, but it ended up going towards something more psychological. A lone tribesman ventures to the edge of a cliff on an alien planet to overlook the voids below. Thinking about sadness, the past and the unknown is something we all do way too often. We can either take that leap of faith and explore a bit more like this tribesman has, or we can keep contemplating on our own personal failures and continue looking into the abyss.

I spent 3 hours working on a previous draft, in a landscape format, which just looks rubbish. I much prefer working in portrait having one or two focal points. The obvious point of interest is the tribesman and the second is the scale of the strange cliffs.

== The tribesman's sword was an extra touch. I would assume that alien civilizations have developed this as a weapon if gravity is the same as earth due to the weapons perfection in form, accuracy and deadly extension of the body... You can just about see it.
