When Soul of Sound Have Color － “appearance”
“Daily Environment Sounds” as the theme of exhibition “appearance” is based on “Synesthesia Thesis” foundation to create a series of “Sounds” and “Colors” images. According to the research, sorting of different color combinations by transferring “Audio Data” to “Spectrum Wavelength Color” .

Finally, we use the “Resonance” physical methods to mime the acoustic conduction, then capture it when the color mixing together with variety of materials medium, to complete the works of “ Environment Sounds Colorized” .

“Project Sounds” is an experiment work about transferring “Sounds” to “Colors” created at KISD (Köln International School of Design) in 2016. By recording the “Environment Sounds” while walking in the city, observing the water color emerging to each other during the vibration on the water surface.

"Vocal Color" - Color Samples
“What if the message was not transferred by sound, instead visual color images turning from audio frequency ?” is the idea that “Vocal Color” wants to explore. After “Project Sounds” , rather than choosing colors by instinct, we are thinking over the individual vocal frequency in physical way. By adding the concept of “Time” and “Overlapping” the colors on the paper.

"Exhibition - appearance" - photo
“appearance” means “Reproducing the time and space of events, characters and emotions from the sound” . The exhibition is about transferring “Environment Sound” into “Color Images” , with black and white photos and audio samples from recording location and finding the new inspiration.
"Two Types of Mediums and Methods" - explained
The exhibits are “Morning Forest and Singing Bird” “City Jungle” “Sunset Fish Market” “Whisper Journey” “Neon Noise” and “Wave Line” .There are two types of mediums and methods : floating paints on the cotton material and forming coloring paper pulp.

Exhibition “appearance” was held in Shih-Chien University for three days. It included six color images, concept video and equipment being used in the process. I explained the concept and creating process everyday during the show. Also, I was interviewing people who understood the concept of the exhibition.

We realized the phenomenon of sensation and connection between resonance and emotion. Through vision and sound transformation. It generates various application possibility. No matter in art, design, or scientific field, the characters on two extremes of the “spectrum” can be out of boundaries. This learning experience is coming from the feedback of sensational experience. There is always a new thought post design and creation field.
