The theme of this project is the difference between people’s past, dreams and their real lives. The inspiration came from a famous ancient Chinese article called “Luoshenfu” which depicts a story of Cao Zhi and the Goddess Luoshen at the Luoshui River. Cao Zhi is son of emperor and he was exiled to a small city because of conflicts with his brother. In the journey to that small city he meets the Goddess Luoshen at the Luoshui River when a bunch of light appeared suddenly. My work uses light as the indicator of those fancy illusions. When I turn off the light, the scene returns to the real world.
