Heck a 'lotta Halftones!

This project is a picture of me in a park jumping in the air! (It took me quite an amount of tries to get the picture right!) The content of this piece is very superficial. It's simply me. I love this picture because of the sense of depth it has. I love halftones and I've always wanted to experiment with them! Using halftones to create a vase sense of depth was a challenge at first. I had to really consider the size of the dots I was using. I didn't want to make it look like everything was one giant blob! I wanted to keep some of the picture solid so it gave a pace for your eyes to rest. A lot is going on so having that grounded base can be really helpful. I used the pen and pencil tool to create the outlines. Once that was complete, I used the blob brush tool to color in the objects then ran it through the colored halftone effect. The values of the piece are all dependent on the halftones. There is movement in this piece because of the way the blobs of halftones are sprawled across the page, it keeps your eyes moving. I feel this piece is very unitive because of the way I manipulate the half tones. I'm really proud of myself for choosing this effect because I had a lot of fun with it!
