Here is a simple Indian girl sitting for my painting. I liked the innocence with which she was posing. Her age has an innocence which I wanted to capture in the work. The grass and the lighting in the background came out naturally as well. I did two layers of it very

effectively.

Few places in India are highly deprived of water. Men and women commute through kilometers to fetch water. This is one such place where water is such a scarce. Here is a lovely Indian woman carrying water in the steal vessel for her cooking.

This is the painting of a boy making skateboard. If you do not have the money to buy a skateboard, just make one. I mean how hard could that be and that is the mindset of this positive young boy. A positive energy that the adults often miss to have.

A young woman that has been in love with nature. There are places like these that are found near hills and mountains. We have many places which possess natural beauty. At last she found one such place and enjoying the environment while engrossing in some sort of observation. This is one of my few paintings with a girl draped in half-saree.

He is so much at peace. It is very hard to bring the lighting under the hot scorching sun. But the lighting has come out decently well and it reflects on the wall and his skin.

WOMAN PREPARING CHAPATHI

In village people have limited resources and here is a woman preparing chapathi. There is no gas for them to cook. There is no advanced stove and yet they do not complaint. Each day is another boring day with so much work from morning till the night and yet they enjoy it. Maybe that makes the village a special place to live. No much technology, no much greed and yet so much happiness. They are very clear. They live only to think of their survival, in short the next meal. I have used several colors in this work. The wall and the skin have same base colors but with a combination of different other colors. I have used some raw colors without mixing them with the others. I have used the technique scumbling here to highlight the effect of light which is hard for me to bring.

Girl in White Chudidhar

She is a beautiful young girl, dressed in a creamy white chudidhar, sitting on the rock and having a chat with her friends. I only tried to capture the moment of unconscious happiness that she exhibited in that moment. As an artist, it is a treat for me to work out such scenes with a perfect background. Light never fails to amuse me. It is a morning light which passes through her and that is why there is light even on her face. It is one of my best works which gave me a lot of recognition. It is complete work with a dulled background and white chudidhar girl protruding out of the canvas.

Commuting Family

Tribal life still exists in few parts of India. They are so happy and content that they do not want to mingle with the urban crowd. Few regions are really pollution-free, noise-free, neat and so clean to live. Here is one such commuting family on their way to home after a small shopping of plucking vegetables and flowers.
