"Transience" is a minimalist loungewear collection developed specifically for women undergoing chemotherapy and cancer treatments. The collection is intended to eliminate the need for hospital gowns by offering an alternative in the form of soft, comfortable, loungewear with easy access to IV's and ports. All the fabrics are cotton based and have been treated with an antimicrobial technology that helps fight hospital born illnesses that are so dangerous for a patients weakened immune system. Aesthetically, this collection is inspired by the Japanese art of Wabi Sabi, which resonated me after reading an article called the Wabi Sabi of Cancer. Wabi Sabi is the Japanese worldview based on the acceptance of transience and imperfection, or finding beauty in things that are "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”. This collection is intended to make a broken time a little more personal and a little more beautiful.
