KIND SWAN
16 MM FILM STOCK // CAMERALESS FILM
ANALOGUE MEDIA
BANGALORE, INDIA
JULY 2016

Kind Swan is an exercise on 16 mm film that explores the material nature of film stock, and its ability to document a moving image sans camera. It is an experiment with analogue media on a surface can be added to (clear leader) or subtracted from (found footage, black leader). Keeping in mind the frame by frame visual nature of film, the experiment is an attempt to understand motion sequences and persistence of vision, while the optical transmission of sound introduces sound as a new analogue medium that can be tampered with.
