Day 24. Avocado
Avocado is a fictional app for smart grocery shopping.
It can scan each item as you put it in your cart and keeps track of all kinds of data including total price, calories, and other nutritional information, recipe ideas based on what's in your cart, and more.
Client has requested to include both an icon and text.
From the text alone, I knew I wanted to focus on avocado as a main design.
I design simple avocado shape.
Initially I thought about including the graphic on the text, but I decided to separate the two elements.
From the Avocado, I wanted the logo to be different.
Since the app is based on the idea of scanning items, I wanted to include an icon related with scan.
Upon researching, I notices magnifying glass is use for scan or search.
Utilizing negative space, I design scan icon on an avocado.
From there, I tweak the shape to capture organic and natural atmosphere.
Avocado is a very soft fruit and its shape changes from slight pressure.
I wanted to capture that moment and tried to avoid sharp corner and symmetrical shape.
I also tweak the font little bit to share a similarity between the icon and text.
