Micronesia? Never heard it. Imagine a bunch of emerald gems scattered across the sparkling waters of the Pacific. Unreal, right? That's my home. I see the ocean everyday. In fact, I LIVE right next to it. I don't think I can ever think of my home without thinking of the ocean. Being from a small island nation like myself, the ocean means so much. It's where my family gets their fish, teach our children to swim, teach our men to navigate- its like part of my culture, my identity. Seeing the ocean and its blue sparkly waves fracture into more shades of blue from the sun's rays is a color that all islanders will recognize as their root. FUN FACT: ALL OF MICRONESIA'S FLAGS HAVE THE COLOR BLUE.
