About the painting
I made my first mono-prints 5 years ago and one of them became the starting point for this painting. Really enjoyed creating the rich and visually interesting textures back in time. I was excited about bringing the textures into the dance and make it an equal part of the painting. I was also playing with the opaque and transparent quality of the gouache paint. Giving much details to the forms didn’t concern me much in this case.
