BAM Fintech App

BAM is creating an app that can provide investors with a high-performance, low-cost investment vehicle to scan investment opportunities in the world's stock markets. Using their own cutting-edge AI Robo-Analyst to help investors to participate more in the stock markets with proper analysis and advice.

Product Goals

Designing BAM Fintech's app for mobile and desktop, while effectively featuring their AI Robo-Analyst to aid and guide users in buying stocks. Users can rely on this app to monitor their stocks and market news effectively and seamlessly.

Research

To start off with the project, we first identify our users and their behaviour.
• Our user age group range from 25 - 50 years old
• Users are generally not that tech-savvy
• Some users do not have time to keep track their portfolio and related news

We then narrow down our target audience into two main groups, these are the findings of their needs and behaviour.
Ideation

In order to understand the project better, I researched on competitors and similar products, on how users are going to use the app and navigate around, what features it have. Once the Information Architecture is confirmed, I proceed to draft out the wireframes to show the user flow and interactions.

My goal is to ensure users can access the content easily, and allowing users to view information about individual stocks at once glance. Stock prices and movements are one of the crucial section in the app, it has to be clear and simple to understand. Navigating around is also one of the concern, so we decided to move the navigation (hamburger) menu below with the rest of the navigating items to stay within the reach of the users, especially to users with phone of bigger screen sizes.
Before moving on to designing the Hi-Fi mockups, I then conduct Usability test on the wireframes to evaluate the user flow and usefulness. With rounds of iterations, we optimised the user flow and confirm on the direction.

Visual Design

The design will look like a dashboard, cards are used to separate content based on hierarchy.

Users will be able to search for any stocks based on categories easily upon landing on the app for the first time, while their own dashboard (portfolio) is easily accessible. As users have added content to their dashboard, which will then be the main landing page whenever they open the app. The app itself has many features and content, the interface is designed to be easily familiarized and navigate by users effortlessly.
Evaluation

Due to time constraints, I am unable to further discover more insights of the users, such as conducting user interviews to understand their pain points and touch points of the app they are currently using.

Although the data and information provided by the client is sufficient enough to proceed on designing, I wish there could have more opportunities and time to explore further into the research phase. This allows me to gather a more accurate data to craft out better design specially for the targeted users, solving any pain points they may face on other apps.
