The goal of this character design project was to take a plant or animal and reduce its form, color, and mood into a character with a randomly assigned profession. As a librarian that is inspired by an orchid, I took the general shape of most orchids into consideration. Furthermore, I borrowed from common color pallets and the overall plant structure (large flower on a slender stem). This final piece is graphite with digital coloring.
