Women constantly have to be conscious of the amount of space they take up in public spaces. Often having to make themselves small and prevent attention from falling on to them, while men fill up all of the extra room. In this piece I featured a strong women in my life “man spreading”.

Installation
Inspired by a kaleidoscope, this piece allows the viewer to sit inside of the geometric cavity and view the piece making their way from the bottom where there is thick foggy material up to the increasingly thinner transparent material and then finally to the open top where the light is shining down on them. This experience forces a moment of clarity after a long and draining experience when one finally sees the unmistakable truth.

This interactive installation is about the amount of pain and dehumanization experienced by individuals who are constantly being walked over whether they have built up the strength to continue enduring it or not.
