On the screen- CaptureOne

Using Capture One- first task
As our first task for ‘On the screen’ we had to show our knowledge of what we learnt about capture one in the first session, mainly about rating, colour tagging, smart albums and exporting images. I chose a small shoot I did in Norfolk on the beach, as I wanted to explore my styles more and experiment with landscapes as it’s a style I don’t usually shoot. I imported all of the images from the shoot, in raw format and then started by one- starring the ones I liked in the set. I then created a smart album to include all of the images rated equal to and above one star. From this, I rated the images two stars if I preferred them, getting rid of any that were too similar to one another. I did this again for three stars and for each I had a smart album to sort them into. After the third star, I was down to a small collection, and I used a green colour tag to tag the two of my favourite images- one focusing on the green rope on an abandoned bridge, and one focusing on a wooden plank leading to the bridge. From these two I chose my favourite and went about exporting it using the method I had learnt and using the format given- JPG, 1600 px and long edge.
