Destruction Box, 13" x 10" x 10"
This box was built to be destroyed. Every fiber of its being was formed for its undoing. In twisting the handle, the Destruction Box is to pull itself in and crush itself. I am interested in pieces that are purposefully temporary and become artifacts of action, and this piece is a result of that line of thinking.
although this project did not "work" per say, in the performance and action of turning the wheel, a new meaning is formed for this piece. The uncertainties within pieces bring their own important meaning and form the artist as much as the artist forms the project.
