This was one of my favorite projects to work on so far. It is a chapbook, designed as a project for Movements and Influences, where we were allowed to create a book on any subject matter of our choice pre-dating 1920, in order to coincide with the Victorian era.

 

My decision was simple. I wanted to have a little book on the life and work of one of my favorite painters, Amedeo Modigliani, and so it exists. I had bound this book by hand, using charcoal drawing papers to print the inside pages, metallic paper for the end pages, and printed-on raw canvas for the cover.

 

I had bound quite a few books up to this point, and for some reason, the pure simplicity of this one brings me the most joy. I believe because it due to its tactile nature and its warmth.
