"Primary Principles" is a piece made to explore the history and symbolism of the tiger motif used in historical Asian artworks. Depicting a more modernized version of these Asian tigers a contrast in generations is shown. The Tiger is representational throughout Asia for many different motifs, however depicting them in a sort of battle for the top also reflects the importance of saving them from extinction.
This piece is a 3 layered screenprint. The process included drawing the tigers traditionally then scanning for a cleaner illustration to then transfer onto film. Allowing certain colors to pop more was based off the tiger's position.
