Asked to create an identity system for the annual typography convention, TypeCon, I chose Tulsa, Oklahoma as my setting and inspiration. I designed a typemark, poster, instagram fliers, and conference agenda that would play off the city’s unique Art Deco architecture. By deconstructing the elements of my hand-drawn letterforms and mixing historically disparate typefaces, I hoped to evoke a playful vibe that feels both vintage and modern at the same time.
