Upcycling project, reusing scraps of PVC pipes, found on construction sites, turning it on single fins for surfboards.
Os canos PVC foram serrados longitudinalmente, retificados com soprador térmico, colados com cola CPVC (garantindo o menor número de materiais na peça) e em seguida a peça foi desbastada com uma esmerilhadeira, dando a curvatura da quilha.
The PVC pipes has been sawed longitudinally, flatted with a heat blower, glued with CPVC glue and then the whole piece has been sanded, giving it the fin foil.
Como de costume, produzi um curta-metragem para participar da edição 2018 do Vissla e Surfrider Foundation Upcycle Contest. No curta, é apresentado todo o processo criativo envolvido, do cano para a transformação em chapa e da colagem até o foil da quilha.
As usual, I produced a short film as an entry for the Vissla & Surfrider Foundation Upcycle Contest 2018. In the film is presented the entire process, from the pipe to the sheet and from the gluing to the foil.

Desta vez o projeto foi escolhido como melhor criação de upcycling do Brasil e também foi selecionado como um dos 20 finalistas mundiais, participando da exposição em San Juan Capistrano.
This time my project won the first place in the Brazilian edition of the Contest and also has been selected as a finalist for the worldwide competition, taking part on the Contest Exhibition on San Juan Capistrano/CA.
Como premiação ganhei uma prancha 5'7'', handshaped pelo Henrique "Ogro" Perrone, e tive minha quilha comprada pela própria Vissla.
