pre-ceramic shell and casting. these penguins are hollow wax castings.
Just cast, they're still on their trunk, with just a little bit of ceramic shell left on it. These are from the initial casting; the penguins were cast over a series of three castings. There is a total of 36 penguins.
the nearly finished product, they just needed a little bit of grinding and sanding to finish off. Most of the 36 cast penguins were given to mentors, close friends and family members for their constant love and support. Many were traded for other works of art, and three were featured in my award winning, "Yea, I don't get it either, but I think it has to do with friendship." Which can be seen in the Sculpture and Furniture project folder.
