About the Work
With these images, I am exploring ways of viewing Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. Bucolic and romantic during the day, the land opens itself to new interpretations at night. This is the land of the Monacan Nation, Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings. A land where cows graze at night under a blanket of stars old as time. Thanks to the Virginia Center for Creative Arts (VCCA) for a fellowship that provided me time to begin this work.
