Type Spa was a two-week, hands-on workshop with Ellen Lupton in which each designer created an 8-page publication aimed to develop skill, confidence, and a personal point of view regarding typeface pairing, hierarchy, grids, and overall editorial design.

Preparing, eating, and serving food is an intimate act that expresses our beliefs and aspirations about pleasure, health, cultural identity, money, aesthetics, politics, sustainability, social trends, and countless other areas of everyday knowledge and practice. The aesthetic qualities of cooking closely parallel the aesthetic qualities of typography.
This publication, titled “In Fond Memory Of” presents 3 recipes, organized around a theme of nostalgia, seasons and delicious food.

The project was completed under the creative guidance of Ellen Lupton at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore.
