TONTRÄGER
Visual Identity for performance
Event description

A performance based on conversations with Zeina Hanna, Claudia Heu, Susanne Karow, Zorica Milisavljević, Mengfan Wang

A body that does not see itself as subject makes hidden spaces visible.
People use language everywhere every single day. Depending on when and where something is said, speaking constitutes concrete spaces and specific places in them. Tonträger deals with the possibilities of translating texts into movement, sound and corporeality and plays with ever-new configurations of body, space and object. This makes otherwise hidden places visible to the viewer. Listening, distributing and arranging, two bodies explore their possible actions in the empty spaces between text, object and stage.

Choreography, Performance: Darko Dragičević, Martin Sonderkamp / Voices: Shannon Cooney, Mika Hayashi Ebbesen / Sound: Vera Pulido / Light: Catalina Fernandez / Artistic collaboration: Zeina Hanna / Graphic Design: Dragana Krtinić / A production of Darko Dragičević and Martin Sonderkamp / Coproduction: Tanzfabrik Berlin / Supported by SKH Stockholm University of the Arts

As expained in the description of the event, Speaking constitutes concrete spaces and specific places in them. I wanted to create visuals that will feel like open space. You just see one cadre, caught in the moment. You don’t see end or  beginning of it, nor borders.

Again, Tonträger deals with the possibilities of translating texts into movement. In the visuals, main sentences from the performance are presented as moving in space, like you caught them just before disappearing.

Light also plays a big role in the performance and you can see, in the design, that light is, like sentences, passing by, over the solid color backgrounds.
