The project started with studying one product and redesigning the same after analyzing it. The product taken was a shoe rack.
The main issue along with many other which turned into opportunity to redesign was that it is kept at the entrance and needs to be hidden as it looks shabby as soon as we enter the home. It does not go with the home interior if not designed along with the interior .
Also it occupies a lot of space at the entrance in a home where there is scarcity of space. Another issue is: the same shoe rack is used for years until it breaks and does not allow flexibility in terms of space design elelment.

The product is a collapsible multi storage rack. It can be used as a storage place and becomes a part of the interior element when not in use. It has mainly two component: the frame & the cover. The collapsed state acts like a piece of art on the wall.
It can be easily hooked on the rod fixed on the wall and can be slided horizontally to a desired location. Various compositions are possible with different permutations and combinations. Also the cover of the rack is changeable which can be changed from time to time according to the interiors of the house. When not in use it is collapsed and does not occupy extra space in a small space crunched house.

Various aspects like value engineering, easy manufacturing process, low affordable price have been strictly taken care of. The product frame is of MS rod bent like hooks in the end to hang on the rods while the cover can be of the material and requirement according to the interior.
The target Customers are middle class homes where there is limited space but still people want to keep good interiors in affordable prices. The offices might be the secondary target market.
Sustainable business model has been developed for this product which suggests buying of the complete product for the first time and then buying the cover occasionally to change the home interior. The product also involve flexibility in terms of number of racks as and when required according to the family size and storage space required.
