END OF THE YEAR REFLECTION ON SYANA AND MAJO STUDIOS...
It was truly an honour and privilege to be able to learn and grow with the people in my group. majo studios has gone through many challenges. one of which was the big challenge of having to restart our initial story from scratch. we all originally thought of a story of a group, just like ours, thinking of a story. and the animation would consist of everyone making their own little snippet of what they think a good story is like. Some people in our group then realized that this story is not brining our group together, but more so making our group members drift from each other. we were no longer working or thinking as a group, but as individuals. I'm glad that everybody agreed to fixing the problem and going out for bubble tea to think of a brand new story. it didn't come easily though. prior to the bubble tea event, I asked everybody to go back to their routes and think of a 8 beat story that they can share with the group and hopefully our story ideas will be the start of a brand new story that we've made as a group. during the meet up, we thought about witches and magic and soon syana was born. its funny really, because the name "syana" originated from Mae asking me who my favourite league of legends character was. I answered syndra and Diana and people started combining the names of the two, creating "syana".
the process of syana started off really rough and our group struggled with getting along at first. but when we finally got the story down, after many revisions, the ball finally started moving. once we started production, our group started to become closer and closer, despite being in different periods during the day. of course there were issues but we started to learn how to deal with them better than before. I thank everybody for this amazing journey. even if I was only there for half the period. I learnt a lot from new animating techniques to how to resolve issues and trust my group members more.
