People often use phrases without knowing how they originated or where they come from. Phrases are very common and so this project was created to help people understand the origins of some of the most famous phrases in our language. My decision to take the phrase in a nutshell came from my research and through this research my outcome was produced in the form of a box consisting of 16 empty nutshells each resealed and containing the summery of a classic novel summed up in a nutshell. ‘In a nutshell’ received praise from many who were surprised with the concept of this work and because of this I entered it into the New Blood exhibition in Islington.
