You can't make any progress, you're stuck, there is no way to go further. You've reached a dead end. You went too far, and lost yourself, or chose to go on the path less beaten, and now cannot find your way back.

What if the wrong way was actually the right way?
TEDxUniversityofGlasgow's 2019 main conference “Wrong Way – Go Ahead” tells histories of exclusion and refusal to comply with the norm and how these can lead to greatness, self-accomplishment and achievement. We are living in a world where an increasing amount of importance is given to individuals, their struggles and values. However, Identity politics and a rise of right-wing movements in recent years keep reminding us of what is acceptable and what is not in the eyes of various interest groups, what should be shown and what should be hidden, what should exist and what should not. History showed us that difference breeds innovation, instead of stifling it. Artists, writers, scientists, whether it be accidental or not, have brought us ground-breaking inventions, moving pieces of art, by using different methods, exploring unbeaten paths, and straying from the norm.
We want to share with you, our audience, that the only time where difference is necessarily followed by exclusion is in the dictionary. Difference is a chance for growth, self-improvement, and not an end in itself. We think we hit a wall, but sometimes it is merely a step towards achieving our full potential.
Nature teaches us that the salmon swims upstream not out of folly, but to carry out the task it's been assigned. Why can't we swim against the current of normality, bringing with us the values we hold close to heart, becoming ourselves?
There is no wrong way. The only way we can go is forward.
