Period Movement
I created these graphics for the non-profit organization, Period Movement, in order to bring awareness to the Tampon Tax petition in California. Men’s products such as Rogaine and Viagra are not taxed but tampons and other menstrual products are taxed as “luxury” products. I wanted to create graphics that were friendly and empowering to periods since they are commonly stigmatized. Periods are a hard conversation to start but I wanted to create bold graphics that opened the platform to those who menstruate and those who want to learn more about it.
This project was created through Adobe Illustrator and I worked with Nadya, the CEO of non-profit to create these graphics. I was inspired by my first two graphics through nature and the root of menstruation which is life. I wanted to be bold but iconic at the same time. There was branding constraints that were different from my originally design such as colors.
