(Phobia - Self Portrait, Video Production, IE HST, 2018)
You cannot understand a phobia, unless you have one. It is an excessive and irrational fear reaction. If you have a phobia, you may experience a deep sense of dread or panic when you encounter the source of your fear. Whenever i am faced with the object of my fear, something in my brain ticks. The amygdala in my brain lightens up and all i hear is "danger, danger, danger.”
This is what my self-portrait is about. The fight in me between remaining calm for the people around me not to judge, but also the chaos, the fact that i cannot help it and my brain firing up.
With this abstract short film, I want people to kind of understand what I feel. I want them to see that some things are inevitable; sometimes chaos cannot be avoided.
