New Spirit is an organization that was founded in order to strengthen Jerusalem and turn it into an inspirational capital city.
The Alliance House serves as the basis for New Spirit’s activities and is a hotbed for the creation of an innovative, creative and professional community in Jerusalem.
The home serves as a model for a creative community that works together in light of shared values and artistic cooperation. The unique building was built at the end of the 19th century and laid abandoned for more than 10 years. Two years ago, the building was given to New Spirit for temporary use and as a result, a vibrant and inclusive creative center in the heart of the Mahane Yehuda market was born.
The house is a dynamic and animated creative space, in which more than 200 artists, designers and residents reside.
It has proven to serve as the ideal space for artists at the beginning of their artistic careers. The sense of community created by the house fosters collaboration and enables people to work both together and separately. All of the artists who work at Alliance House are Jerusalemites in their heart, soul and work.
In The Alliance House there are temporary work areas for artists and writers, temporary exhibitions, conferences, classes, lectures, a barbershop, live performances, parties and various events that are open to the general public.
In this project our main goal was to show the different communities and artist that work in this building. It was important for us to achieve a wandering-like experience, almost snooping through the personal work spaces of the artists.
The website we built is all based on photographs we took inside the house and the different studios inside it. The bright colors and the young typography are giving this project a fresh energy and look.
