The aging population is the popular topic in Hong Kong society these years, and the dementia disease is one of the major problem deal to the aging population. Nowadays, there are about 280,000 or even more elderlies have different state of dementia. Lots of them feel helpless, lonely or bored in daily lives because they memories less through the time flies and their past daily life memories are disappearing. Some of the family members may not understand their feeling and the relationship between them may be getting worse.
The purpose of this project is to design a restaurant for the dementia elderly which can provide some interactive activities and memorable diet to stimulate their brain for memorize past memories to delay their state of dementia.
Taste memories tend to be the strongest of associative memories that you can make. As the taste can stay longest in our brain, it can affect our memories and emotion.So I would lik to use tastes and emotion to help the dementia elders to memorize the past memories. This restaurant would provide dining experiences for memorizing past memories and help the dementia elderlies to have a new delighting moments with their family members.
This is a restaurant app which is mainly used by the dementia elderlies and their family member to record the diet ate in our restaurant. The app can let the user to record their special moment and save it and the restaurant would use their own memories to create a unique calender for the dementia elderlies. Also, it help the elderlies to montor the state of dementia. As the target user are elderly, the interface is designed to be clear and more space to make it comfortable. The function and button are designed to be simple so the elderlies can catch up the app easily.
