Hoots Ma'Goots A steampunk inspired owl print. With most of the visual effects done by hand. From the patina effect, and various other attempts to make this the most metal owl i have ever made. 

This print was quite challenging and took much time than I had anticipated. A lot of time was spent doing the gears in the body area. These gears are all largely done by hand with some help with the symmetry tools, however I still had to do a lot by hand. This print has been applied in various products from t-shirts, PopSockets, stickers, and was also part of the Happy Little Pixels Vol. 1 coloring book available via Amazon

Here are some zoomed in slices of the design. This design is only partially symmetrical overall. Though gear in the body area has its own individual symmetry. Each gear also has individual teeth and color schemes making the body area the most amazing part of the owl.

The eyes also are a key piece to the look of this print as they definitely capture the mechanical look and feel quite nicely.

This is one of the first projects I ever learned about using artboards and smart objects to easily created scaled and sized versions of a given print. These lessons made working with online stores and various product formats in a single PSD file so much easier.
