Cinque Terra, Italy
Along the Italian Riviera coastline 5 individually unique villages can be found clinging to the cliffside. With their colourful houses and steep terraces these towns make for some impressive viewing from both the water as well as on foot.
You can reach these villages by boat or by train which travels along the coastline disappearing into tunnels before emerging one more between the towns and runs out of La Spezia.

The most common sight with these villages are their fishing boats, the large harbours are filled with locals fishing boats as well as tourist boats visiting for the day.

Cinque Terra has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997.
