AN UNCONVENTIONAL FASHION SHOW

POSTER DESIGN concept

This project aims to promote a fashion show combining bold and anachronistic haute couture and will take place at the Cycladic Art Gallery. The space was chosen as it reveals the contrast between the old and the modern, while enhancing their coexistence. The designed promotional material has as it's main purpose to reflect the ideology embraced by the garments. It is aimed at people who are interested in the world of fashion and art.

CONCEPTUAL ENTITIES

The ideas that will be portrayed on the posters stem from the relationship of three basic entities

01 / Clothing that breaks stereotypes because it is provocative and at the same time anachronistic, emphasizing the contrast between normal and abnormal

02 / People who are socially concerned and confronted with established ideologies related to politics, religion and formal beauty.

03 / The Gallery of Cyclades, the choice of which contributes to the strengthening of the contrast between the traditional (symbolized by the old building itself) and the modern one (symbolized by the event that will take place there)

Thus, we can see the relationships that connect the entities of our idea.

conceptual Entity Relationships

The first of the ideologies we will express through the idea of the poster is Confrontation. Confrontation to the existing culture of religion, political and established beauty that is reflected in both the target audience and the garments. This culture defines the behavior of individuals and often imposes their compliance with it. Based on the criticism of the public towards established ideologies, we will express provocative representations and symbolisms in order to opose stereotypes.

In addition, in our prints will dominate the dark side of human nature, with the symbols of fashion that have always been expressing it. The Art Gallery has been chosen with the criterion of the atmosphere it provides as a building with minimal windows which implies a lack of natural lighting, providing the appropriate atmosphere for the fashion show. Thus we associate the aesthetics of the clothes that will be displayed with the venue's atmosphere.
