LAUTREC

LAUTREC
Produced as an exercise of Styling, the editorial followed the theme “The woman portrayed by Toulouse-Lautrec” and focused on the creation of a beauty inspired by Carmen, one of the more frequent appeared woman of his works. By analyzing his color schemes, brushstrokes, life context and art movement, we were able to create a beauty that could evoke the character of an idealized “perfect woman” - making a direct reference to the greek concepts of beauty - but that could also show the mundane aspect of that women's life and job. The viewer is confronted with the angel and the devil, the wife and the mistress, the two faces of a coin - which only happens because of the almost harmonic contraposition of elements and colors, and by the convincing old fashioned background.
