Frankenstein Mono Prints

Frankenstein Mono Screen Prints. Series inspired by the Frankenstein movies. Objective of the series was to create a three layered screen print. The screen print had to be related to Halloween. After choosing Frankenstein as my subject. I decided to use a well known public domain image. Before the printing process began, I edited the photo to make Frankenstein more menacing than he is to begin with. After the photo adjustments came the half-toning process. This process would allow me to print him onto the cloth fabric easily. From here I decided to go with a blank red background that was not half-toned. I wanted to create a dry texture for him to sit on. I chose to use normal speedball screen printing ink so it would dry quick to create the texture I was seeking. From there I printed Frankenstein himself with black plastisol ink. I chose to do multiple passes on this layer to really bring out the menacing look I wanted. With the nature of the ink I could create a rough uneven texture that would resemble Frankenstein himself. Fabric screen print 11” x 17”.
