Campaign: Project DefoRestoration

PROJECT DEFORESTORATION

The Philippines has been subjected to deforestation since the colonial period. Today, its remaining forest cover is down to 6.6-7% or 1.98 to 2.1 million hectares out of the original 30 million hectares in the early 15th century as stated by the ESS and Conservation International. Project Deforestoration is a campaign movement that aims to help solve and improve this current continuous decline experienced by the Philippine forests. It is believed that for a country’s continuous growth and development a well sustained and habitable environment in needed.
