Let It Bee
This morning, I popped outside to take a picture of a bush in our backyard that has exploded with flowers. As I expected, it was buzzing with bees.

I shared a picture of the bush on social media, and a friend asked what type it was. I got a close up shot of some of the flowers, and that's when I had the idea to try to snap some photos of my little visitors.
Bees are such an important part of our ecosystem, and so many people I know are scared of them.
Yet I have always found that they are not interested in us, they're interested in flowers, and if you let them be, they don't bother you.
We enjoyed some of their wonderful products at my home today. Honey on toast is especially delicious when you've been feeling unwell, in my opinion.
Here's a fun fact I learned recently, to wrap up my photos...

Honey is more or less bee puke.

Bees actually ingest nectar into their honey stomach, which is separate from their regular stomach, and it is processed into honey using an enzyme the bee produces. They pass the honey by mouth to fellow bees in their colony, which reduces its water content, and then store it in honeycomb.

I know, I've ruined your honey eating experience now, at least somewhat. It doesn't make it any less delicious, though.

Remember, bee kind to our important friends!
