Arches National Park
The Arches National Park is a national park of the United States in the north of the Colorado Plateau on the Colorado River north of the city of Moab in the US state of Utah. It preserves the world's largest concentration of natural arches, which constantly reappear and fade due to erosion and weathering. Over 2000 arches with an opening of at least 90 cm (3 feet) have been recorded in the park area. The ecosystems of the over 300 km² large park range from the riverbank of the Colorado River to bare rock and are characterized by the average altitude of about 1500 m above sea level in a desert climate.
